london scanned over one million faces last year. four point seven million in 2023. newcastle trial scanned one point seven million in single month. people walked past cameras. cameras read their faces. compared to databases. flagged matches. all without consent. without knowledge. without anyone asking if this should be allowed.
told people about this at dinner party. they shrugged. said everyone knows about surveillance now. said we accepted it when we bought smartphones. but knowing youre watched is different from understanding you can never escape. different from realizing EVERY MOMENT IS DOCUMENTED. every location logged. every face scanned. every movement tracked.

watched her last week. sitting in car outside house. scrolling. thirty minutes. just scrolling. not messaging anyone. not creating anything. just consuming. feeding algorithm data about what makes her pause. what makes her watch twice. what makes her inadequate enough to buy solution. shes not using app. APP IS USING HER.
ten to fourteen percent meet criteria for social media addiction. thirty-three point one nine million americans. addicted to loneliness. addicted to comparison. addicted to feeling worse about themselves. and companies profit from every scroll. every inadequacy. every moment of manufactured dissatisfaction. LONELY PEOPLE ARE PROFITABLE PEOPLE.

workers conceal profession to protect loved ones. they know. deep down they know something is wrong. but algorithm tells them its empowering. instagram shows them successful creators. tiktok shows them women making millions. nobody shows them women five years later. unable to date. unable to trust. unable to separate intimacy from transaction. THE LONG TERM COST ISNT IN THE MARKETING.
gen z thinks this is normal. thinks selling yourself piecemeal online is just another way to make money. like driving uber. like doordash. but uber doesnt follow you forever. doordash doesnt create permanent documentation of your degradation. onlyfans does. internet does. nothing digital ever disappears. RAISING GENERATION THAT CANNOT EXIST WITHOUT BEING OBSERVED.
trap music everywhere. every song about drugs money violence sex. friend's brother is thirteen. showed me his playlist. every song glorifying xanax. percocet. lean. molly. he doesnt know what these drugs do but knows theyre cool. knows successful people do them. music is propaganda dressed as entertainment. theyre teaching children to aspire to addiction.
hookup culture normalized younger and younger. high school students expect casual sex as standard. no relationship. no connection. just bodies. just validation. just proof youre desirable. theyre learning intimacy means nothing. that sex is performance. that bodies are content for someone elses approval. ATTACHMENT ITSELF BEING BRED OUT.
snapchat makes it worse. messages disappear. nudes disappear. except they dont. screenshots exist. cloud backups exist. nothing digital ever disappears. but teenagers believe illusion. send photos they would never show in person because app promises temporary. temporary is lie temporary is how they get you to volunteer permanent documentation of your own exploitation.

older ones moved to pills. xanax from someones mom. adderall from someone who doesnt need it. percocet from wisdom tooth surgery. trade them like pokemon cards. mix with alcohol. wash down with energy drinks. self-medicating anxiety that social media created.
guy friend knew died from fentanyl-laced pills. thought he was taking xanax. nineteen years old. funeral had three hundred people. all teenagers. all crying. all posting about it. all going back to same parties same drugs same dealers next weekend. THEY CANNOT LEARN FROM DEATH WHEN DEATH IS ALSO CONTENT.
marijuana legalization made weed seem harmless. just a plant. but THC concentrations now four times higher than 1990s. teenagers smoking concentrates that would hospitalize their parents. using daily. wake up. sleep. exist. calling it medicine while exhibiting every symptom of dependency. theyre not using drugs theyre SELF-MEDICATING REALITY.
theyre numbing themselves. vaping to calm anxiety screens created. pills to focus on tasks that dont matter. alcohol to feel comfortable in bodies theyve been taught to hate. weed to quiet thoughts that might lead to questions.
nicotine is gateway but loneliness is drug. vaping because friends vape. taking pills because influencers take pills. drinking because songs say drinking makes you cool. peer pressure amplified by algorithms showing them only behavior theyre most likely to imitate. drugs arent problem. drugs are symptom. symptom of generation so disconnected from meaning they need chemicals to feel anything at all.
teenage girls grow up in world telling them their value is appearance. desirability. willingness to perform sexuality for validation. then we act surprised when theyre abused. manipulated. when older men convince them exploitation is empowerment. WE CREATED THE VULNERABILITY THEN BLAME THEM FOR BEING VULNERABLE.
age gap relationships normalized on social media. eighteen dating thirty. calling it mature. calling it preference. but pattern is clear. young women with no framework for identifying manipulation. no experience recognizing coercion. no understanding that someone twice their age pursues them because women their own age wont tolerate the behavior.
dating apps optimized for shallow selection. swipe right if attractive. swipe left if not. reduce humans to photos. reduce connection to appearance. teaching children people are disposable. commitment is outdated. depth is boring. INTIMACY ITSELF BECOMING OBSOLETE.
grooming happens in plain sight. discord servers. instagram dms. snapchat chats. older men befriending teenage girls. saying theyre different. mature. not like other girls. slowly isolating from friends. from family. from anyone who might notice. platforms enable it platforms profit from it. more engagement. more messages. more time on app.
revenge porn sites still exist. deepfake technology improving daily. teenage girls finding faces on bodies doing things they never did. finding videos sent in confidence now public. permanent. attached to their names. they report it. nothing happens. video stays. trauma stays. PERMANENT VICTIMIZATION AS BUSINESS MODEL.
sexual harassment moved online became impossible to prove. boy sending unsolicited photos to fifty girls. school says cant control what happens outside school hours. police say not technically illegal. parents say boys will be boys. girls learn. learn discomfort doesnt matter. learn male attention is inevitable. learn THEIR SAFETY IS THEIR OWN RESPONSIBILITY IN SYSTEM DESIGNED TO EXCUSE PERPETRATORS.
one in three teenage girls report sexual harassment online. one in five report being solicited by adults through gaming platforms. but nothing changes. platforms grow larger. harassment continues. exploitation multiplies. because solving it would require reducing engagement. and engagement is profit. and PROFIT IS THE ONLY GOD THEY WORSHIP.
theyre creating generation of identical people. same clothes. same language. same references. same opinions. same fears. algorithm-optimized homogeneity. they dont notice. think theyre expressing individuality while performing conformity. wearing same rebellion as everyone else. watch them at coffee shops. tables of teenagers together. all on phones. not talking. not connecting. existing in proximity while consuming content alone. this is friendship now. being lonely together. being present in body but absent in mind. and they dont realize what they lost because they never had it to begin with.
culture moves too fast for reflection. new trend every week. new dance. new challenge. new phrase. by time you understand one its dated. trained to keep up. never catch up. never stop. never think. just consume produce consume produce until theres nothing left inside but FEAR OF BEING LEFT BEHIND.
this makes them easy to control. easy to advertise to. easy to manipulate. generation raised on fifteen second videos doesnt have attention span for revolution. doesnt have patience for organizing. doesnt have critical thinking to recognize theyre being exploited. they are perfect consumers they are perfectly controlled.
freedom of speech exists until you say something platform doesnt like. then youre shadow banned. reach drops. speaking into void wondering why nobody hears anymore. this is how silencing works now. no censorship notice. no explanation. just slowly decreasing reach until you stop trying. INVISIBILITY AS PUNISHMENT.
